Safe Plug® Technology

MicroFridge® with Safe Plug® technology features a patent-pending power management system that set our combination appliances apart from the rest. Our products are specifically manufactured to conserve electricity and reduce potential fire hazards that are caused by overloaded electrical circuits - especially important in older residences and dormitories. Plus, the charge station built into the front of the microwave gives you the convenience of re-charging laptops, cell phones, MP3 players and more without struggling to reach into inaccessible outlets.

MicroFridge® appliances with refrigerator/freezer and 700 watt microwave oven operate with just one plug inserted into one outlet socket and never draw more than 11 amps. This safety feature has an added benefit… it helps to conserve energy, which means that it will save you money when compared to other combination appliances.

In a MicroFridge® combination appliance, the refrigerator/freezer plugs into a special outlet on the back of the microwave, the microwave then plugs into the wall…using only one wall socket. When you purchase a refrigerator and a separate microwave, 2 power cords are needed to operate the appliances…with a MicroFridge® combination appliance, just one plug is needed. This feature regulates power to each appliance, to conserve electricity and free up wall outlets. Most importantly, it allows our combination units to be used safely, without special wiring, even in older buildings.

Dual Charging Station

The microwave is engineered with a Dual-Outlet Charge Station – designed to re-charge your personal electronic devices. The secret behind this revolutionary new feature – not found on any other microwave - is our patent-pending Safe Plug® power management system. Safe Plug® technology is responsible for safely allocating energy to the charging station, the refrigerator and the microwave. The 2 green lights on the front of the microwave indicate that the power management system is functional.

Here’s how it works:

The reset button on the RIGHT, is engineered as a safety feature for the outlet on the BACK of the microwave. This outlet is reserved exclusively for the MicroFridge® refrigerator - and allows it to operate in conjunction with the microwave. By plugging the refrigerator’s blue cord into the blue outlet on the back of the microwave, the Safe Plug® power management system becomes operational.

When the green light above the LEFT outlet is illuminated – BOTH outlets on the front of the microwave are ready to power up laptops, cell phones, iPods, digital cameras and other devices that draw FOUR amps or less. What happens if you plug in an item – or 2 items - that draw more than 4 amps combined? No worries – a built in safety feature turns off the green light, alerting you that no charging is taking place in the outlets. Simply unplug the item – or items - and hit the reset button on the left.

When you need to use the microwave while charging an item, you’ll notice that the green lights flash upon pressing the start button – so you know that the power management system is working – and power to the outlets is temporarily interrupted. Once cooking is complete, power to the Charge Station resumes and the green lights stop flashing.

Smart Store Door

The Smart Store Door is designed to fit larger objects such as ½ gallon milk cartons and 2-liter bottles. This unique feature enables larger containers to stand upright, right on the door for easy access. Plus, the risk of leaks and spills from storing larger containers on their side is eliminated and more usable shelf space in the fridge becomes available.

Stay Fresh Drawer

A feature not often found in compact refrigerators, this special compartment keeps produce items crisp and delicious – from salad fixings to your favorite fruits and vegetables. This roomy drawer can actually hold 2 bags of apples!

0° Freezer

You may think that mini-refrigerators available in retail outlets have a freezer. They don't. Single door models with an internal ice compartment just can't do the job. The ice compartment is small and not meant for long-term storage of frozen foods…ice cream melts, frozen dinners defrost, ice pops liquefy.

The MicroFridge® combination appliance offers a separate, spacious .75 cubic foot true zero-degree freezer compartment that can hold and freeze a half gallon of ice cream, 5 frozen entrees, frozen juices, and plenty of ice. That's more than twice the size of a typical internal ice compartment available in most single door refrigerators. The MicroFridge® also comes with a built-in ice scraper for those occasions when the freezer needs to be defrosted. Some 2 door models are available with a frost free freezer.

Pre-programmed Recipes

The touchpad control panel is easy to read with large numbers and letters . Plus convenient settings let you heat up Soup, Beverages, Pizza, Popcorn or Dinner Plate at the touch of a button.

Express Cook Settings

Simply push 1 to cook for one minute, 2 to cook for two minutes or 3 to cook for three minutes. A large display window counts down cooking time and shows the clock time.

Adjustable Beeper Volume

The touchpad control panel is easy to read with large numbers and letters. And it even has 3 volume levels for the signal beeper. A great feature when you want to fix a snack in the middle of the night without making any noise!
